WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is developing a new custom lists feature for its web version to help users filter and organize their chats more effectively.
This update aims to offer a more seamless experience by syncing across both mobile and desktop versions, according to WABetaInfo. With custom lists, users will be able to set up personalized chat filters, making it much easier to find specific chats with family, friends, or work contacts.
Once this feature is live, any custom lists created on the mobile app will automatically appear on WhatsApp Web. For example, if a user sets up a list like “Family” or “Work Team” on their phone, that list will be instantly available on their desktop.
This automatic syncing means users won’t need to manually recreate lists on different devices, ensuring that filters are accessible wherever they use WhatsApp.
The synchronization will be especially helpful for users who frequently switch between devices, such as using their desktop during work hours and mobile on the go. This feature promises a unified experience, giving users consistent access to organized chats across all their devices.
